ASTRA
A Sci-Fi Roguelike
Command a starship. Explore the unknown.
Navigate through black holes.
Reach Sagittarius A* at the heart of the galaxy
— or die trying.
Descend
In the distant future, at the edge of explored space,
The Heavens Above orbits Jupiter — a waystation
for the desperate, the brave, and the mad.
Adventurers dock their vessels, trade with alien merchants,
and embark on an interstellar journey toward the center of
the galaxy: Sagittarius A*, the supermassive
black hole.
Those who reach its event horizon are said to be
reborn in a new universe, carrying with them the knowledge
and scars of every previous life. But the path is treacherous
— each star system generated uniquely, filled with
hostile creatures, forgotten stations, and infinite darkness.
Death is permanent. Knowledge is eternal.

# Procedural Generation
Every asteroid, station, and dungeon is uniquely generated each playthrough. No two journeys to Sgr A* are the same.
@ Character Creation
Choose from six races and five classes. Allocate attributes, name your character, and review your build before setting out into the void.
* Interstellar Navigation
Travel between star systems through black holes. Upgrade engines and navigation computers to reach more distant sectors.
⚒ Tinkering & Crafting
Repair, disassemble, analyze, and enhance equipment at the workbench. Learn blueprints and synthesize entirely new items from salvaged materials.
+ Trading & Barter
Visit space stations to buy, sell, and barter with galactic merchants. Resources are scarce. Every transaction matters.
↑ Skill Progression
Unlock eight skill categories — from blade mastery to persuasion. Spend skill points on passive bonuses and powerful active abilities.
X Ranged Combat
Engage hostile Xytomorphs and unknown threats with ranged weapons. Turn-based tactics demand every move counts.
☠ Permadeath
Death is permanent. Every decision carries weight. Reach Sgr A* and be reborn — or be forgotten in the void.
V Voidwalker
Melee Tank
Heavy armor and blade mastery make the Voidwalker a frontline juggernaut. High strength and toughness.
G Gunslinger
Ranged Agility
Lightning reflexes and quick-draw pistols. Acrobatic evasion keeps enemies at a distance.
T Technomancer
Tinkering & Intel
Bends technology to their will. Weak in combat but unmatched at the workbench. High intelligence.
O Operative
Stealth & Social
Short blades in the dark, silver tongue in the light. Balanced fighter with social advantages.
M Marauder
Survivalist
Forged in the void. Shrugs off damage and relies on instinct and sheer toughness to outlast anything.
H Human
Adaptable Explorers
Versatile and tenacious. Names like Marcus, Elena, Jin carry the last echoes of Earth.
V Veldrani
Traders & Diplomats
Tall, blue-skinned. Their melodic names — Vel'thar, Syndara — are spoken in trade halls across the sector.
K Kreth
Mineral-Skinned Engineers
Stocky and enduring. Gromm, Thukka, Brekk — they build what others only dream of.
S Sylphari
Luminescent Wanderers
Wispy and ethereal. Aelith, Lumyn, Whisp — they drift between stars like living light.
✶ Stellari
Stellar Engineers
Luminous and ancient. Brilliant minds in frail bodies. They shaped the stars before memory began.
